This stunning kitchen renovation project took place in a home in one of Destin’s most desirable neighborhoods, Kelly Plantation.
The renovation commenced with the removal and disposal of the existing appliances, backsplash, countertops, cabinets, pantry, soffit, and walls, making way for a fresh canvas based on the new floorplan. Every detail was meticulously considered to ensure an efficient layout.
To enhance the kitchen’s ambiance and lighting, the can lights in the ceiling were rearranged, and any imperfections on the ceiling’s drywall were fixed and painted, achieving a flawless finish. Pendant lights, both existing and new, were strategically positioned to provide focused lighting over the central island, casting a warm glow on the culinary delights prepared below.
The renovation extended beyond aesthetic changes, as new walls were framed according to the updated floor plan. Plumbing and electrical systems were repositioned to accommodate the new layout, ensuring that functionality was seamlessly integrated into the kitchen’s design. The addition of a pot filler above the range brought convenience to the cooking process, allowing for easy access to water without the need to transport heavy pots.
The chosen cabinetry truly maximized the design of the space. The homeowner chose the Long Beach cabinets from Bishop cabinets in Nordic white, a timeless style. Above and under cabinet lighting was installed for soft and functional visibility.
The renovation team took extra care in selecting a vent hood that would not only complement the overall aesthetic, but also ensure effective ventilation. A new cabinet-style vent hood, along with a high-quality blower, was installed, ensuring that odors and smoke would be efficiently vented.
A striking tile backsplash brought a touch of artistry to the kitchen, creating a focal point that enhanced the visual appeal of the space. Carefully selected to harmonize with the overall design scheme, the backsplash added a pop of color and texture, while also serving as a practical solution for protecting the walls from cooking-related splatters.
